In may 2012 our youngest, Jemma Bella, turned one. First
birthdays are my favorite, the husband often comments how our little ones won’t
remember their first party but I certainly will and knowing our families there
will be millions of photos for the kids to look at.
For Jemmas birthday we decided to throw a ladybug picnic.
The house was decked out in polka dots galore, glitter, and number 1’s. Our
guests were invited over for a yummy picnic lunch of sandwiches, salads, fruit,
and punch; followed by everyone’s favorite, the dessert bar!!
While Jemma snacked on her own mini lady bug cake our guest
chowed down on everything from chocolate covered cherries to cheesecake
brownies!
Our guest played games like knock over the tin cans, and bean
bag toss. Had their faces painted, and searched for buts with their new bug
nets.
Overhead were hundreds of red and black pennants, and on
each table was a glittery number 1.
As our guests left they each picked up a mask, bug net, and
jar of lady bugs with a special poem thanking them coming!
